Aggie McCarthy, John Lyons, Adrian McNamara and Flan McCarthy, raise the national flag during the 104th anniversary of the Glenwood Ambush during the War of Independence on 21st January 1921 when 37 volunteers of the IRA’s East Clare Brigade neutralised an 10-strong RIC patrol, killing five including a District Inspector, while another died later of his wounds.
