Former Doonbeg, Clare and Munster footballer, Senan Downes was the recipeint of the Hall of Fame award by the Munster Council. However, Senan was unable to attend the presentation in person as the same night he was honoured by Clare GAA when named the full-back in the football team of the millennium. His sister, Susan, is pictured accepting the award on his behalf from President Elect of the GAA, Sean McCague and Munster Council PRO, Fr Seamus Gardiner - January 21, 2000.
