With children around the country preparing to go back to school after the Summer holidays, a visit to the old Kinturk National school, closed in the late 1960's reminds us of a time when school was a very different place, with outdoor toilet facilities, a yard with boys on one side and girls on the other and an open fireplace in the classrooms.
